Tell us the address, the borough, and whatever you’re seeing, even if you’re not sure how to describe it. Half the calls we get start with “it’s probably fine, just some rust,” and it turns out to be flaking down to bare metal in two or three spots. That’s fine.
You’re not being tested on the diagnosis; that’s our job. Just tell us what you’re looking at and roughly when you’d want it handled.
Photos help, but we don’t quote them. A phone camera makes light surface rust look like nothing and can make solid paint look like it’s peeling depending on the light.
We’ve been wrong about taking a photo before, so now we just don’t. Someone comes out, looks at it in person, and you get a number based on what’s actually there.

After the visit: a written quote, the work involved, materials, timeline, and whether anything needs to go through Buildings. Not every building needs certification, depends on age and class, and we’ll usually know that before we even hang up the phone.
Scheduling on a straightforward job runs one to two weeks out from a signed quote, sooner if there’s a safety issue. Insurance is $2,000,000 in general liability, and we’ll send your building or management company a certificate if they need one on file.
